Dear Aspirant,

I dont think so that you will be admitted to English Masters on the basis of BCom qualification. Firstly, it will be very difficult for you to cope up with Masters in English without under graduate background of English.

I would suggest you to choose some other area for Masters in Arts, like Economics, Political Science, etc.

Further I feel it is important for you to know your self completely and then take a decision to choose a career option.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric test from CareerGuide.com which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which stream is good for you.

Hi There,

Congratulations, that you are now a Graduate even after difficulties you faced.

When we speak of masters in a subject, it means in mastering or adding knowledge to the existing knowledge in particular.
Since you are a B.Com graduate, I don't see any language specialization in there.
So pursuing a masters degree is not possible.

Here you have few choices to consider:

  1. Either you pursue a masters in the subject that yu have studied like accounts. Or pursue courses related to Banking and Finance, or trading, Stock markets etc
  2. You pursue an MBA program. MBA is a 2 years fulltime program that you can opt for after appearing for a entrance examination, either at the state level or country level ( CET, CAT, NMAT, XLRI, SAT). There are many specializations to choose from right from: Marketing, HR, Finance, Hospitality management, Inventory or Stock management
  3. You could pursue a B.Ed degree. Here to teach in a school, you would have to opt for a subject as majors. Here as a subject, you can opt for English. But mind you, the ground work has to be done by you. So generally a student pursuing B.Ed opts for his specialization, he had opted for during Graduation. But if you think you can manage with the basics of english, you can go ahead
  4. If at all, you wish to pursue English literature only, then the only option for you is to pursue Graduation again and then only can you opt for this specialization at the masters level.
Earlier Open University had this option, that any Graduate can opt for any specialization at the masters level, but now the rules have changed.

Anyways the choice is now yours.

Wish you good luck.....
