Hi Nida
First of all this shift from bio chemistry to MBA is not an awesome deal to be precise , however if you really want to pursue that , you must start preparing for CAT without any delay further. CAT aptitude exam takes place in November and five months are quite less for that. Post CAT there will be other entrance exams for other top B Schools like XAT- XLRI Jmshedpur IIFT, NMAT , MAT and SNAP which typically take place after CAT.
An MBA degree initially can assure a high paying job only if you are an outstanding performer or if you get through in the Tier 1 B schools.
No if you stay associated with your field and pursue MSc in the same you can have the following options which are enriching and high paying like
You may also opt for a Phd abroad which will also be a rewarding career. The fact is that whatever you pursue with dedication you will be paid for that ..that does not need to be an MBA degree always.
Start preparing for CAT immediately. You are already late.
I was a Biotechnology Engineer once and struggled a lot.
Don't pursue anything in LifeSciences as there are not high paid jobs.
You can call for an eye opener discussion and future scope.
Best wishes,
Himanshu
