Please note that a B.Sc degree in Psychology does not make you eligible to work as a counselor. You need to pursue a masters degree. Being a B.Sc, you have few more options to specialise in that is criminal and or forensic psychology, apart from the regular clinical, counseling, industrial, social and or guidance and ciounseling courses.
Please note that these days there is a wide spread awareness regarding mental health issues through the media and social networking sites and hence people are open to visit a counselor for help.
These days even corporate have enrolled for various stress relieving and grievance cells to help their employees.
Thus apart from the regular hospitals and clinics, a counselor has opportunities to be working in corporate, wellness centres, schools, colleges, mediation centres, educational centres etc.
