Hello ANtony,

You wish to join your brother, that means that you have made this decision becauise he is doing good in the field of Psychology right?

Please note that a B.Sc degree in Psychology does not make you eligible to work as a counselor. You need to pursue a masters degree. Being a B.Sc, you have few more options to specialise in that is criminal and or forensic psychology, apart from the regular clinical, counseling, industrial, social and or guidance and ciounseling courses.

Please note that these days there is a wide spread awareness regarding mental health issues through the media and social networking sites and hence people are open to visit a  counselor for help.

These days even corporate have enrolled for various stress relieving and grievance cells to help their employees.

Thus apart from the regular hospitals and clinics, a counselor has opportunities to be working in corporate, wellness centres, schools, colleges, mediation centres, educational centres etc.

Wish you good luck...

Surely, A degree in Psychology is worthy in the contemporary social structure of India. However, your brother should be interested to this field. You can definitely find career as clinical psychologist, Education and Career Councillor, Councilor in hospitals etc both in private and public spheres. There are more options to specialize in Psychology that he can choose after Graduation or Post Graduation. As per now, You can send your brother to the institutes like Delhi University, Ashoka University, Lovely Professional University etc for getting quality of education and to get more practical skills (needed for the career)

. Some of the universities are providing placements after their graduation in leading institutes or companies. For more details you can search in the websites of these universities.
