I scored 68.6% in first attempt of CBSE 12th boards, then I appeared for improvement exam next year and scored 82.2%.I wanted to know what impact it will have on my placements or if I opt for higher studies like MBA or GATE??
Hi Vipul,
Interesting question and you seem to be a perfectionists too.
Firstly, why did you go for a 2nd attempt and waste time???Secondly, after 12th, mostly there are no placement opportunities available.
Please note that after you Graduate you have placement opportunities. And Yes a second attempt does affect the placement opportunity. So from now on, try and give in your 100%, and score well in your first attempt itself.
Again for pursuing GATE or an MBA, you need to be a Graduate first. So your Graduation score is important as well as the attempt.
As such, during the Personal interview round especially during MBA admissions, be ready to answer why you went in for a 2nd attempt. The answer should highlight your need to be a perfectionists and not just be a childlike answer.Be ready for that.
Now I would suggests, focus completely on your studies, attending lectures regularly and preparing your notes, and adding again, give in your 100%.
Hope this helps.Wish you good luck....
Dear Aspirant,
Doing class improvements is always taken as negative unless you have a very genuine reason to justify.
I would suggest the same as Ms. Meghana. Not to look back now and focus on future and take maximum efforts.
Completing your graduation is a basic requirement for MBA or GATE, therefore ensure that you get atleast first class in graduation.
Selecting MBA or GATE after engineering is your choice, but remember that after engineering doing an MBAimmediately wont get you a job in engineering field, but in non-engineering field. So choose one of them carefully.
Best wishes
