The earlier the better. Its better to know the childs aptitude at a young age, so that can be guided accordingly.
As such for the career counseling, you could approach mera career itself or any private career counseling centre in your nearby locality. Make sure the test called Aptitude test consists mainly of 5 subtests like Analogies, verbal, numerical, spatial and mechanical. A combination of the Aptitude test with IQ and personality test.
Please note as such no preparations are required for these test. The child should go relaxed and with no pre conceived notions.
