Pilot is one of the top most preferred career option by many of the students. Students aspires to make their carer either in Air Force field or wish to be a commercial pilot in the private sector.
Whereas to make a career in any of the areas the routes are quite different.
To make a career in as a Pilot one need to have 12th Science with subjects as Physics and Mathematics. After 12th if one is willing to make a career in the Air Force field i.e Defence sector than one has to give an NDA exam. The Air Force Pilot is an Central Government Job.
And if one is willing to make their career as a Commercial Pilot than one has to register to flying club for Student Pilot License- which is recognized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA),Government of India. The eligibility is should have completed 12th Science and at least 16 years of age should be . On successfully completing the course and the examination one gets the Student Pilot License (SPL).
The Next step is one has to register for the Private Pilot License (PPL). The Training consists of Sixty Hours of flying out of which 15 hours are dual flight assissted by the flight instructor and 30 hours are of solo flights and five hours of cross country flying. The eligibility criteria for this is should have completed 17 years of age and 12th science,and Medical fitness certificate from the Armed Forces Central Medical Establishment.With this you get eligible for the PPL Examination.
The last step is to get the Commercial Pilot License ,but without completion of the PPL one can get entry for the CPL. The CPL have a 250 hours of FLying which includes the 60 hours of PPL flying.One has to undergo a Medical Fitness examination held at New Delhi and have to give an CPL examination.
By completing all these three steps one becomes a Commercial Pilot.
