I totally get where you’re coming from. Photography can sometimes feel like it’s not taken seriously, especially when people think it’s just about snapping pictures. But honestly, photography is such a powerful medium, and it’s a legitimate career if you’re passionate about it. When I was starting out, I had a similar mindset – trying to figure out how to not only capture great photos but also look good in them! I came across a great resource https://skylum.com/blog/how-to-look-good-in-pictures on how to improve your presence in photos, which really boosted my confidence. If you’re serious about photography, learning these little tricks can make a big difference. Check out this blog post I found on Skylum – it really helped me refine my skills.

Hey, your situation really resonated with me — trying to follow my passion for photography while the people around me pushed in a completely different direction

. It’s tough when parents think something like fashion design or architecture is a more “legit” career path, but choosing photography doesn’t mean you’re being irresponsible — it means you see something real in capturing light, emotion and moments. I actually came across this article https://aperty.ai/blog/thanksgiving-day-tips-for-photography, while I was honing my own style and prepping for a personal project, and it ended up giving me more confidence about pursuing photography as a meaningful craft. Just wanted to share that if you’re serious about this, there are resources you can lean on and you’re not alone in believing it can be a profession.
