If you want to become the professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering you will have to meet the following requirements.

1. You will be required to have a Ph.D. in this field in case you directly want to become a professor. The thesis have to be approved by an affiliated university and then only you can apply for this position.

2. You can get the job of a lecturer after doing your M.Tech and then you can go ahead with your research while working as lecturer. The lectureship is obtained after clearing GATE exam if you are a B.Tech. Once you get your M.Tech any college will hire you for the lecturer position.

3. You need to have work experience as a professor. In case you do not have your Ph.D. you can still go for the job of a professor as the work experience is really valued in this field of academics. You need to have served as a lecturer for a reasonable amount of time to get this job.

4. You should be able to explain your concepts well so that they can easily understand the theories and can serve well in the future. This is a noble job and you will have to provide the right knowledge to your students so that they can learn bright things.

5. As a professor you are supposed to do a lot of research in your area of expertise. You will have to work on the research papers every year and showcase your research work in various seminars. Therefore the job is not only about teaching but also the research.

6. You need to have the good academic records if you want to get the job of a professor. The criteria in the world of academics are rather rigid and require good academic records by yourself. Then only you will be able to teach your students well and provide the valuable contribution in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Hope that was helpful to you.
