If you want to become a professor in Electronics Engineering, you need to meet certain criteria which have been mentioned as below:

1. You need to have a Ph.D. in the Electronics Engineering field as that is the most essential criteria in most of the universities. These universities will not allow you the job of a professor without having Ph.D. degree in your hands. Therefore you need to have that first.

2. In case you do not have a Ph.D. and only a Masters degree in the field of Electronics Engineering you can still find the job of professor in some of the private universities or colleges. Please note that the masters degree will only fetch you jobs in certain cases and not every time.

3. You can also go for a lecturer position in case you have a Masters degree in electronics engineering. Once you become the lecturer, you will start taking the classes and also you will be able to continue your research work for Ph.D. and you can complete your Ph.D. while working as a lecturer and thereby promoting the position of professor after some time. This is one of the most common path to become a professor.

4. You need to have done a reasonable amount of research work It will be impacting if you have published few research papers, or written for any journals or got any national or international recognition for your work. That way you will be very much qualified to become a professor.

5. You need to have a nice work experience of teaching. It can be at any level but the important thing here is to now how to interact with your students. Teaching is not a one way communication but a two way technique where you have to listen too. You need to have those patience to listen to your students' doubts and clarify them. You should be able to help them out in every situation and be an inspiring mentor or guide while working on various electronics projects.
