There are certain requirements that you need to fulfill if you want to get the job of professor of Electronics and Telecom Engineering in a university or college. This is due to the fact that the academic world has strict requirements and one has to fulfill them, otherwise the college or the university will not appoint you. Below information has been provided to you so that you can get yourself aware about how to become a professor in this subject field:

1. If you have no prior work experience then you will have to have a Ph.D. degree in your hand so that you can get the job of a professor. Remember the degree has to be in the electronics and telecom engineering field only. The government funded and the recognized universities will not appoint you for this job role. Therefore you need to first get your doctorate degree so that you can become a professor.

2. If you only have a masters degree in the field of electronics and telecom engineering and no doctorate degree, even then you can apply for the position of a lecturer in the college or university. Once you get the job of a lecturer there, you can continue with your research work and then get the doctorate degree so that you can become the professor.

3. In any case you need to have wonderful academic records in order to get the job of a professor. This is specially trues if you do not have much of the work experience behind you. The academic world is a lot strict and follows certain guidelines. Since you are going to take care of the academics as a professor it is expected from you that you also did really well in your academics.

4. The professors need to be research oriented. You need to show your research work while looking for the job of a professor. The research work is equally important for the professors as much as the teaching part and sometimes even more. Thus you need to have enough research work done in this field and have few publications under your name before you get the job of a professor.
