Hello Akash,

Good question asked. Please note industries these days prefer a BCA / MCA graduates over engineers, simply because of their indepth knowledge.

But do note its only designation wise you would be a software engineer and not on certificate and job profile wise. Since you would not be into manufacturing and research of softwares that are newly launched.

Also as a counselor, my question to you is why are you giving up PCM. I can understand the entrance exam, but still you have classes to help you prepare. I would strongly suggest give it a try because anyways you can pursue BCA only after 12th and Math is compulsory. Another option is try PCM in the 11th class and if you feel you are unable to cope with it, shift streams. Though I do not recommend stream changing in the 12th class. But surely I will say give PCM   a try, I am sure you will succeed.

Rest is your choice.

Wish you good luck....
