Hello Vidhi,
As such scope in a field is made by the individual itself. What you make out of a career would depend on your skills and potentials and your interest in the field.
Please note, as a MBA in tourism, you would be restricted to only the tourism industry. As such getting into a top position would take you sometime, since position would be a little less. You would be involved in all kinds of tourism work, right from planning to booking etc.
Please note that every industry has openings in the Finance and HR field. Though job would be as a trainee and with experience you can move up the ladder. Hence job opportunities stands more.
But only if you are interested and have the potentials then being in any industry you could progress towards higher positions.
Make a confirmed choice.
Wish you good luck...
Thank you. actually I don't know what is in HR field. Travel n tourism is of my interest. Suggest me more. What should I do?
Hi Vidhi,
Go ahead and do a MBA in tourism. If you do it from a good college; then your future is secure. Do it provided; you love meeting people, organising things and events and of course traveling.
Not many persons select such a course. But, the competition will be less; and India is one of the hottest tourist destinations of the world. It is only bound to grow at a rapid pace.
Your friends and family members (maybe people around you) may say that 'Do HR or Finance'. But, let me warn you that there are enough people doing the same. So, competition is tough; and growth may be slow. It's a safe bet. But, there is no gain without a risk.
So, my advice is that to take that risk and it'll pay your rich dividends in the long run. Of course, it goes without saying that you need to select the right institution and also do well on your MBA.
All the very best;
Vinay Wardhan
