I want to go into the tech/gaming industry...my favorite tech company is Google.

I want to go into wither gaming or tech industry as a programmer/game creator and not as an animator. My dream is to work with Google, I am currently studying in 10th class and will take up science (PCM with computer science as 5th subject - C++). Then I am thinking to do B.Tech and most probably BCA. To do BCA or not, that I will decide later. My query is what should I do to work with Google and is BCA really required? Thanks

Nice to see you here. Great. You do think differently and I like to speak to people who think differently. Yes you are on the right path. I am glad to note that you are determined to join Google fraternity and I wish you good luck.

Gaming industry definitely is good and offers handsome salary package if you want to join some company. Normally gaming enthusiasts and engineers go for freelance operation mainly because freelance gives them creative thinking and they can develop such a creative game without somebody sitting on their head and give them targets. Targets normally act as a pacifier to our creativity.

To become a gaming or software engineer, you should be a graduate in computer subjects, Of course. Moreover, companies like Google hire leaders, not just people. Make sure that you have the quality in you by the time you complete your degree. Take some psychometric assessment tools to know your aptitude, personality, attitude and skills. Polish yourself so that you fir the leader category.

Hope this answers your query.
Good luck.
