Hello My Dear EMBA Aspirant,

EMBA is really a wonderful course and proves to be a great value addition to the resume of a candidate who has got work experience in the industry.

EMBA that is Executive MBA is a new kind of concept which has come into existence from the top 25 BSchools. Apart from the regular full time MBA course which is regulated by a University and or AICTE, part time MBA and Executive MBA are the two types of management programmes which have been introduced lately to cater to the different level needs of candidates.

'E' stands for Executive and there fore considering your work experience of two years in oil and gas field, you are very much on the executive level.

In my more than seven years of career counselling experience and through my involvement in teaching for some years now, I have been coming across students who wish to do an MBA after graduation and also those who wish to do MBA while working. That time I definitely suggest them the Executive or part time MBA route.

I am thank ful to you for approaching CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and clarification on your career query.

Executive MBA:

I would like to tell you some facts about executive MBA:

  • Executive MBA is generally not offered by Universities but by private or autonomous Institutes in India.
  • Executive MBA is not equivalent to a masters degree under the UGC Law. So one cannot pursue PhD since Executive MBA is not a masters degree under the rules
  • Executive MBA is most beneficial for those who have gained minimum 3-5 years of work experience.
  • Executive MBA eligibility is mandatorily a 'graduate'. So any open University offering Executive MBA for below graduate level candidates is really not worth since the industry will not accept it as valid.

Your eligibility:

Since you are not a graduate, unfortunately there is no admission to EMBA or any other MBA, even distance learning MBA.

Oil and Gas field is really a challenging field and I would strongly recommend you to do your engineering degree and become a graduate. Being a graduate is very necessary and helps in the long run and is considered as the basic eligibility for any future benefit or growth.

I hope you will think over on this!

Best Luck!
