Hi there.

Interesting career option.

Now the choice of studying whether in India or abroad is completely your choice.

Since I have no clues that in India which state you reside in, but the Insttiutes that offer an MBA in Environment management are mostly based in the Southern India.
So if you are from Mumbai, then you would have to relocate to the southern part of India.
So anyways a shift in location is going to be there

As far as the course or syllabus outline is concerned, I mostly see no difference abroad or an Indian University. Both places stress on practical experience or internship.

Now here comes the major issues.
As an environmentalists, your main job would be to investigate certain issues and come out with a solution which is eco-friendly.
Now there is a major difference in the environment when it comes to India and abroad.

Abroad is more systematic and rule obliging country. Also their lifestyle differs than India.
A project which would say last for 6 months aboraod, would take years in India and vice-versa.

So if you planning to work and make a career in India after you compete your studies, then pursuing your MBA here would be a better option, since you would be habituated with the culture here.
But never-the-less, after an abroad education, though you may take time to adjust to the environment here, but if your are a quick learner then it wont be an issue.
At the same time, you could mix and match both the cultures and come up with some unique strategy.

Hope this answers your query.

Wish you good luck.................

Hello

First of all I would like to appreciate your interest for studying further after your BSc degree. Having a Masters degree will equip you better both interms of personal and professional aspects. From your inquiry, I understand you are doing your BSc Enviromental science but not sure in which you are currently on. To be able to consider studying further, and whether it is India or abroad, I think it is wise to look up for all these factors right in your final year of your undergraduation. However if you are in your first or second year, planning ahead is indeed a wise choice.

I have studied abroad, and most of my postgraduate and research degrees were done in the UK. Being abroad for education is an enriching experience and it adds more value to your personal and professional dynamics. However, choosing the right country, right University is detrimental to see a successful career in future. But there are other important factors that you need to consider if you want to study abroad like how you would source funds for your tuition fee and living expenses. If you have a Distinction score in your BSc degree so far, then you may have good probability of winning some amount of scholarships to be able to study abroad.

First let me explain, two types of degrees that you may consider.
1. MSc Environmental science/ management
2. MBA Environmental management.

1. MSc Environmental science: To be able to study this course any where abroad, you may well qualify if you complete your BSc degree with a First class. However yo ensure you get a study offer with some scholarship support, it is advisable to hold a very good percentage like the Distinction score in your BSc. There is no work experience needed to be able to study MSc any where in the world and therefore you can staright away start your MSc after your BSc.

Yet, there is a constraint with the countries you may be able to apply. USA needs a minimum of 16 years of education to be able to apply for the MSc in that country. On this note, as you will hold a three year bachelors degree accounting to 15 years of education, you may not be eligible to apply for the USA universities. Though you have excellent opportunities with Australia, UK, Singapore and the Europe. To apply for the mentioned countries, you need to have written and qualified "IELTS" exam and no other particular exam is necessary.

2. MBA:To be able to study an MBA anywhere abroad, you need to have had a minimum of two-three years of work experience after your BSc degree. Studying MBA in a top business school is only advisable and almost all the top schools never compromise with lack of work experience. So it is suggested you finish your BSc in India, gain a couple of years work experience and then consider the MBA abroad. And to study for the MBA, you need to have cleared "GMAT" and "IELTS"/ "TOEFL" exams.

I hope my perspectives served you well. If you have further inquiries, I am happy to help. All the best.
