Dear student you have mentioned your desire to do an MA in Clinical Psychology. Good to hear on your interest in psychology but may I know how did you develop an attraction/ interest into clinical psychology though being from a BMM background? It is generally common for people to divert their subject or career fields but it is very important to analyse how you developed the interest and whether or not it is worth going in the direction. I would advice you to spend a few minutes on this mera career website to take up the psychometric assessment test. This test will analyse your personality and work skills and would judge if you are the right person to go into clinical psychology field. Taking this test you will be very confident and assured that you are taking up the right step.

Coming over to your question on studying MA in Clinical psychology:
Studying clinical psychology is only possible on three conditions,
1. Have you studied biology in your school until 12th level?
2. Have you studied chemistry in your school until 12th level?
3. Have you studied basic psychology papers in your school level or at least during your undergraduate course level?
Colleges have these three criteria to check if every student meets each of the above three criteria to offer you the MA Clinical psychology course. If you dont meet the criteria then you might be not given a clinical psychology course however the good news for you is, you will be given an admission in other areas of psychology. You have come from a mass media background and therefore I believe you would not have had psychology background in your undergraduate course. So the ideal choice for you is to try the following options.

1. Counselling psychology:
You can choose to do MA/ MSc in Counselling psychology. You dont need biology, chemistry or psychology background to be able to study this course. As a part of the course you will study on various types of counselling like the family counselling, child counselling, adult or adolescence counselling, educational counselling, rehabilitation counselling, relationship counselling, career counselling and so on. You can choose to specialise in one of these areas of counselling psychology as per your interest. Choosing this course will name you as a counsellor in one of the above areas.

2. Applied psychology:
You can choose to study MA/ MSc Applied psychology course other than counselling psychology too. In this course you will study about other fields where psychology could be applied to. As a part of this course, you will mainly study about industrial psychology/ organisational behavior or organisational psychology. You will understand how psychology could be applied in corporate or business functions, how employees are motivated to work, how a team working happens, why employees lose interest in their work, why are there employee turn overs and so on. Completing this degree you can work in any corporate in the HR department or HR strategic division. This is an excellent field and has lots to offer in todays business world.

As you might not have studied psychology in your bachelors, this is a good option.
