Although marks are very important in order for you to get admission in various courses and streams. However, your aptitude and interest are more important at this stage since, this is where you start with your first step towards making a life decision. If you have not scored well in science in your board exams and are not interested at all, then you should not opt for it.
However, in case you are interested but were unable to score well in your board examinations, then you should try and give it a try but only if you are a hundred percent sure that you will try to improve yourself and work towards making your scientific aptitude better. If you are highly interested and do not take up the course, you might end up regretting it for the rest of your life. Then again, if you opt for the course and then realize that you are not improving despite your interest, then you should try to figure out if there is a specific field of study in science that you might be very good at. If yes, then you should continue towards that path. If not, you can always drop out and take admission in some other course that could be commerce or humanities related. Before you do any of that, you should try and take mock tests on your own to test your abilities after working hard on studying your class 10 course materials again. Some schools might have entrances and some may not. If they do, it is for the best, as you will know right there and then whether you are fit for it or not. Therefore, both, marks and interest as well as aptitude are required in order to become a successful and satisfied science student.
