For becoming a CEO there is no defined procedure. If there was such procedure, then everybody would have tried and managed to become a CEO.
I am really surprised by this question and would like you to rethink on this fantasy.
For becoming a CEO of an existing company, you need to be experienced for at least 15-20 years. That means you will have to start from a junior level, prove yourself in the organisation about your skills, competence and work for those number of years to become matured personality enough to tackle any business and people situation.
Earning is not limited, depends on the type and size of the organisation you work for.

Becoming a CEO of an organization is a far fetched dream. Many hope to be there, but few reach there.
As Dr. Annad has mentioned, you need years and years of experience, analytical skills, strategic capacity and decision making skills to be up there.
At the sametime, there is no guarantee, that possessing either skills will make you the CEO of an organization.
Mainly it would depend upon the board members to decide what skills and traits they are looking for in the top position. Also they would have to decide, whether they need a person from the company or they need to hire an experienced individual from another source.
The only thing I can say is that, be dedicated to your work and give in your best. It will take you to the top position and may be one day you would be in the board of directors.
