Hello There! Looking at your question prima facie I personally do not feel there is a need to get very much worried. I am glad that you approached CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance to your career confusion and I am sure that the experts here will be able to guide you through your career problem.

I am an Educationist and have been into career counselling for many students for more than seven years now and I have also been involved into teaching and writing on career management for many reputed newspapers, magazines, online portals all over India for many years now.

From your query I understand that you lost three years of diploma due to your health problem and you feel left behind. Firstly I would like to tell you that do not get worried, tensed and depressed by this. Take this as a learning lesson and proceed further in your career. Losing three years is not at all a big loss and you can make it up by doing some very good educational course.

Since you are interested in engineering, I think you should again approach the college for admission into diploma course. Tell them the reason for the gap in education and also keep ready a doctor's certificate which tells that you have had health problems. Also I hope that those health problems are solved now and will not re appear in future. It is also very important to take good care of your health. Health is wealth is the famous saying which is very true and real.

If you get admission to diploma, please complete the diploma with positive attitude, determination, and good study. Do not keep remembering your past. It is very important for every body of us to forget bad things that happened in our past and grow in life with positiveness. After diploma, you should definitely go for a degree in the specific engineering field you have chosen. Completing graduation is very important for a stable and growing career in the future.

Again I would say, there is nothing to lose hope in your self. If you determine and decide you can do any thing successfully. Its just a matter of time and you will be able to regain the lost years and confidence.

Best Luck.
