As a statistician, you would be mainly involved in Prediction for a company, its market trend and profitability and growth. This would involve use of statistical data pertaining to probability and analysis and noting the market trend. Every field you can think of right from FMCG to retail to sports to motors to computer to education to politics to share markets to IT etc requires the forecast of statisticians. You have a wide choice, right from Private sector jobs to a government sector. As such the job titles available are:

Research Analysts
Economists
Biometrician
Bioststistician

Whatever the position the company gives, the work is basically research and sampling. In terms of growth, it would purely be based on your capabilities and progress shown by you. Remember the position would never change, only there would be an increment in your salary. Also note, this is a team effort, so you would have to be the best and be outstanding to be noticed. Since its a Research job, 5 years is a pretty short time for you to learn and adjust and show your talent. Research is not just a one day or a month job, its an ever changing job. So in terms of growth or future prospect, please note that in this field growth is slow, but patience will help you earn better. Wish you all the very best....
