Hello Dear Aspirant,
Welcome to CareerGuide!!!
Thanks for approaching us and proposing your query.

Well aspirant you have not provided your information like what you have been doing currently like are you studying or working? So its quite difficult to guide you how you can shift your role to Chartered Accountant.

Here are the general steps of becoming a Chartered Accountant:-

Usually a 12th student of commerce background can apply for the CA course. So after 12th one has to give a CA-CPT. After successfully cracking the CA-CPT exam one gets qualified for IPCC Group I and II. One has to undergo for the 3 years internship under the authorised CA and also an 100 hours of IT training conducted by CA institute of India. On the successful completion of the Internship and Training alongwith passing your IPCC Group I and II,the candidate gets eligible for CA Final Exams.

And eventually on completing CA Final Course one gets a certificate from CA institute giving you an authority to Practise as a Chartered Accountant.

Further more, now the eligibility criteria is slightly changed for the Graduates. The Graduates who wish to apply for CA course need not have to apply for CA-CPT and than follow the further process. Now a Graduate scoring minimum 60% can apply for the CA's IPCC Group I and II. They don't need to go with CA-CPT. After applying to IPCC group one has to undergo for a 3 years internship under authorised CA and also have to undergo 100 hours of IT training arranged by CA institute. And on successful completion of IPCC Group I and II and internship and IT training one can apply for CA Final. One's CA Final is complete one gets an authority to practise as a Chartered Accountant.

So the procedure is same in both the ways only in the 2nd option the first stage CA-CPT is excluded.

CA has been always one of the demanding career. And with proper planning and dedication it can be completed very well. And the career opportunities are very good for CA professionals.

I hope you find this information useful and helpful.

Feel free to get in touch again.

Wish you Good Luck!!!

Thank you

Warm Regards,
Prathamesh K.

Dear Aspirant,

You have not mentioned what you have done already in your education and which industry or sector do you belong to currently. Then it would have been simpler or clearer to tell you how to shift to CA.

Chartered Accountancy is a pure commerce field and any graduate can do the course and qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

It is definitely easy if you put in sincere and serious efforts for conceptional learning, practice and general awareness about the finance world. There are many cases that in the first attempt students have passed with good grades. In Chartered Accountancy it is not important to score percentages but very important to have excellent conceptual knowledge and expertise over the subject.

Best wishes
