Hello

Thank you very much for choosing Mera career guide and writing to us. I am glad you have landed up on the right platform to seek counsellors help at Mera career guide. I am happy to help you with your query today. From your question, I understand you want to shift your career into fashion designing. Have you studied fashion designing at a degree level? Or have you did any Diploma in Fashion designing before? Or is it only a pure interest in fashion designing that plunges on you to start a career in fashion designing? Lots of people get attracted to this industry just because of the glamour attached to it. Diverting your career just because of some attraction isnt a good thing. You should understand if you can manage the time and costs it may incur to be successful in this industry. Please clarify yourself on these questions and only then you could help yourself better. I am not aware of what you are doing presently but if you still aspire to try fashion designing, please feel free to try.

To have a fashion designing career first of all a basic qualification related to it is highly essential. For this you should consider studying a Diploma level at least. You may also try joining a BSc Fashion designing course through lateral entry option. You will be directly starting in your BSc second year and could complete the degree in just two years. If you cannot offer time to go to college and study these courses, you can try doing some part time certification courses that many institutes around India offer. NIFT, Lisa school of design offers many short courses that are widely recognised. You may try learning some of these courses.

Alternatively, try looking at famous designers works, their accessories used, their colors used and see what causes the attraction behind their designing. Collect these attributes behind their work and create your own designs. You may try creating a sari design or lehenga design and sell it to local designer clothing shops. Also try putting up a store on ebay and sell your designs. You can also create a facebook page and upload your designs. You will soon earn recognition if you follow the above steps. But it might take at least two years to gain such recognition. You may consider starting your career as a fashion designer from that point and I would you not to quit your career right now and move into fashion designing. You won't be struggling on monetary basis at least. Start fashion designing as a part time role as of now, and once you get recognition, take the transition.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
