Though I have listed down a backup plan, but as a Counselor I am strictly against the thought of a backup plan also from entering the mind. When you know, there is an alternate route, focus tends to shift. I would strongly recommend, focus on your goals to join civil services. Start preparing right from now itself. Preparations in terms of reading, everything that you can lay your hands on right from sports to music to cooking to medicine to politics to history etc. Please note not just reading, but being able to articulate it is necessary. Being logical and witty and maintaining your opinion is a must.
