Interesting.

Firstly I do congratulate you that despite getting low scores in the Medical entrance exams, you have not given away hope of studying Medical further.
Secondly, it would be good, if you could choose a line similar to medical than struggling in the line of entrance exams
Thirdly, you said you have got a lower rank, so in case if you are so keen and can get admission anywhere out of Mumbai or any other distant places and if you are financially well off, you could take admission. Later work hard score well in your first year and then based on merit, apply to medical colleges near your home.
The other option you could think of closing related to Medical can be:
  • Bio Medical
  • Pharmacy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Dietitian
  • Medical Lab technician
  • Psychologists
  • Alternate Medicine

These courses though not completely Medical, or rather you would not being getting a Medical Degree, but never the less they are into the doctor category and knowledge required would be purely biology based.

Except for Physiotherapy and Pharmacy, there are entrance tests, which one needs to clear post 12th.
In terms of Pharmacy, you could opt for A Diploma program too, which is generally done post 10th. But you could opt for it, whereby atlleast you do not waste a year awaiting entrance exam. But if you are keen on the entrance exam next year, it would be good, if you could begin the Diploma program and then in the mean while prepare for the entrance exam.
This option of Diploma is unavailable for Physiotherapy course.

The closest option relating to Medical then would be
Ayurvedic Medicine: Usually this is also a course whereby you would have to appear for entrance exam and then study 4 years course. But there are these days certificate and diploma programs available after 12th too.
Alternate Medicines: ANother options these days available are Alternate medicines, which basically focuses on naturo theraphy available through exercises, and diet and mind relating exercises.
This course again can be done by any individual who has knowledge of Science especially biology.

Nutrition and Dietetics: This is another popular course and is mainly considered under the category of Medical. A Degree is available to students who have done their 12th in Science mainly PCB. Only if you wish to choose a post graduation degree, whereby you would have to appear for an entrance exam.

Psychology: A closely related field to medical sciences. psychology deals mainly with the human mind and issues to be dealt with pertaining to behaviour and mental health. This course can be opted by any 12th stream student. This is a 3 years undergraduate course. Preferably if you do a B.Sc in psychology, which is available down South, at the Masters level, you could opt for Clinical Neuropsychology and or Forensic Psychology.
If you do a BA in Psychology, you don't get the option of Neuro, but you could opt for Clinical Psychology.

Choices are many, but yu just need to change the way you think.

Wish you good luck...........
