In order to continue my work or pursue higher education regularly

I've completed my BCA and working in one of the MNC from past 6 months and there is a bond of 2 years, I want to pursue higher education. So is it better to do it regularly or through distance education. If I do MCA regularly(3 years) will the employers during campus recruitment consider this 2 years of experience?

Dear Friend

Nice to know about your current profile will help me to tell you the in details:

1. Higher degree is always required for promotion and career advancement so one must go for that. Working experience is also equally important where earn skills and industry needs skillful manpower which is very demanding.

2. Some MNCs have the employee friendly approach and developing the norms for educational leave for years which is not known to freshers. So you first check with your boss and seek the policy matters how to avail and what is the criteria to avail the education leave. Sometime they give grant such leave only to them who have spent three years in company sometime one years spent job it depends management to management. So you check with your senior authority but do not claim it or do not create panic it is a polite request not your fundamental right so depends on your convincing skill which must be reciprocated in result.

3. Other option you can take a gap and go for full time course work then again you join it depends on your financial conditions.

4. After two years you will be more equipped and as far as education is concerned there is no age bar you can do it any time depends on your comfortability.

5. Of course part time distance education system supports the professional like you. Many institutes are there to offer you MCA distantly like symbiosis, IGNOU, AMITY University, etc available in the online mode to offer you degree.

6. The best idea for you that spend few years in the same company and gain reputation will benefit you career wise and with skill you will be sound. So check the alliances of your current company also I am pretty sure about you that you will be much acquainted in future.

7. Another benefit after few years that you will be given more priority than other freshers those will come up with simple MCA as compare to you where you will be focused and experienced about the skill requirement in course study also. You can suggest your teacher also about the implacability of particular module in the course. At the same time you can opt right specialization for MCA project work.

Hope it will serve your purpose.

I am very happy that you wish to continue your higher education ispite of being employed and that too leaving your jobs. Employers will surely consider your three years of work experience and after you complete your MCA, you will be eligible for lateral positions and you will not be treated as a fresher. MCA is wonderful master degree course which has tremendous growht potential. I would suggest you to pursue full time MCA if you can leave your job, but would not suggest distance education MCA

. You can do distance education MBA later, which will open many more managerial roles for you in the IT industry. Till the time you complete your 2 years of work experience, I would suggest you to concentrate and focus on learning things on the job and get good appraisal ratings which will help you in future when you will get eligible for lateral entry positions after your MCA.
