Dear aspirant

Thank you for approaching counsellors at CareerGuide.com. A career in electronics is highly rewarding as human life cannot ever function due to the usage of electronic items in present day life. As an electronics graduate you have two options. One is to become a teacher or a lecturer that is to work in the education industry. And the other is to work for corporate companies. You should carefully choose what you like to do and pursue a career accordingly.

1. Education sector: If you want a career as a teacher you can definitely become a teacher with a BTech Electronics degree. With this BTech degree you can work at private and international schools to teach electronics. However if you want to teach only at colleges and universities having a Masters degree like MTech Electronics is highly recommendable. But there are colleges who recruit BTech graduates for teaching positions and such colleges are very few only. However you should pass and qualify one of the exams such as UGC NET/ UGC SET/ CSIR/ UGC LEC exams. If you have this exam qualification you can work as a teacher/ lecturer at any college.

2. Next is a corporate career: I will cover up all the possible careers for a BTech Electronics graduate in this corporate career section.
  • Electronic gadget manufacturing industry/ consumer goods industry: You can definitely work with consumer goods manufacturing industry like the Laptops, mobiles, televisions and house appliance manufacturers. This sector is the most employing electronic graduates.
  • Energy industry: as an electronics graduate you can work for energy generation, consumption and utilisation sector. You can get jobs in national power generation grid companies. These days people have also started developing sustainable energy concepts and electronics graduates are more employable in this too.
  • Airline manufacturing sector: You can find jobs in airline manufacturing sector like Air bus Boeing and many more. You will be involved in manufacturing the electronic systems that requires building up of the air craft.
  • Rail engineering sector: You can find jobs in rail engineering sector where you are involved in manufacturing railway electronic systems, engine systems using electronic equipments.
  • IT industry: Dont assume that only computer science students can work in IT industry. As electronics students also learn data structures and algorithms, these people are also equally employable in IT industry. In fact electronic graduates are more useful in hardware manufacturing companies like Intel, qualcomm. Many of the It companies also recruit electronics freshers students for their IT projects. Upon some initial training on the software project these students do well at IT jobs.
