Hello Babita,

I wish I could help you with choosing a specialization, but please note this is a personal decision and should not be influenced by others.

Choosing a specialization is similiar to choosing a career or stream, whereby knowing your likes and dislikes, your potentials and attitude is highly important.

But one major criteria you need to keep in mind before selecting a stream is knowledge about various specilizations available in your line of interests. This will help you segregate each majors in terms of their job details, industry orientation and attributes needed to be successful.

Thus here before you select a specilization, 2 things you need to do is:

  1. Know yourself better. What are your strengths, likes your approach towards work etc. Basically a Self introspection is important
  2. Thorough knowledge about all specillizations available. Right from what the field is all about, job or duties available and which industry do they fit with and most importantly future prospects.
Thus doing a little research is important. Best way to find ll this would be through Reading, but you can also if possible go meet professionals in those areas or seniors who are studying or have graduated. Also can approach your professors.

Hope this helps.

Wish you god luck.....

While selecting a career one must always seek an expert career advise.Experts like career counsellors,Career psychologists helps students to select a career very well considering various factors of the students like subject of interest,Personality Trait,Strengths and weakness etc. while guiding a student for the selection of a career.

When the question comes of selecting a specialisation branch its a dilemma situation for the student. There are many subject available for the student to do the specialisation.

Babita thought you wish to get a guideline for selecting a specialistaion but you have not provided a complete information about you.

I would like You to give a thought on the following questions and reflect on them:-
1.Where your interest lies??
2.What are the further career opportunities available for me?

While selecting a branch of specialisation gather all the information like what subjects you will be learning in the complete course, what are the future career options available. All the branches of engineering have good scope to make a career . I would suggest you to stick to your interest and don't go with the rumors of a particular branch have a good scope. While you can also take the career assessment this will give you an insight about your area of interest ,strengths, personality trait and weakness. The assessment report will give a concrete view which specialisation you can select. You can connect to the any of the counsellor on the panel for the expert guidance with your career assessment report.

You can list the branches of your interest and can rate them on the scale from 0-10 and can decide which to select the branch.

I hope you find this information relevant to your career query.

Feel free to get in touch again.

Wish you Good Luck

Thank you
Warm regards,
Prathamesh K.

Dear Aspirant,

For this, Engineering Branch Selector Test which is with would be ideal.

Selecting a branch in engineering is tough and should be done cautiously and very carefully. You are just one of the those lots which are not able to decide the branch, so please do not worry. This is a very general confusion, however should be dealt with seriousness.

Best wishes
