The eligibility criteria for Agricultural engineering is10+2, with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and preferably Biology. To become a qualified Agricultural Engineer one must have a graduate degree (B.E / B.Tech) or at least a diploma in Agricultural Engineering.

Agricultural Engineers have bright career prospects. There are various opportunities available for agricultural engineers. They can work in Departments of Agriculture (State as well as central government), development organizations, and institutions/labs as teachers or scientists. In the private sector they can work in agricultural cooperatives, fertilizer and irrigation companies, farming companies, industry service organizations, and NGOs.

Salary :-A fresh graduate can expect a salary of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month. After gaining a few years of experience, one can earn up to Rs. 40,000 per month. Sky is the limit for talented candidates.

Courses available are BE/Btech and than M.E/Mtech. Phd in agricultural engineering.

Colleges/universities offering agricultural engineering courses are:-
Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University, Bapatla (Andhra Pradesh); Allahabad Agricultural Institute, Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh) ;Kerala Agricultural University, Vellanikkara (Kerala), College Of Technology, Pantnagar (Uttar Pradesh).
