Hi Ankur,

Wish you a happy new year and a Happy Sankranti too.

Good question, but the choice of a higher studies is purely based on your decision.

As far as an MBA is concerned, if you look at it the main role and responsibility is managing the work as well as delegation.
But for doing justice to this role, one needs to know the ground rule or the basics of the job.

As far as an M.Sc is concerned, mainly it is a research oriented profile.

Now the choice is yours.
You would have to self introspect. Whether you are a Research kind of a person or would you prefer to manage the work as well as delegate work.

But if I am to advice you, I would suggests that if you are able to get an answer by your self introspection then follow it accordingly.

But if you are unable to get an answer, it would be good if you could get into a job, realize your potentials and at the same time study the market, their needs and the job opportunities created and then opt for a higher studies.

As far as managerial role or MBA is concerned, even after introspection, if you feel you fit in with this kind of role, I would recommend, you to wait, fend a job, and take in experiences.
Only then will an MBA degree would be helpful.

Also please note that with certain M.Sc specialization an MBA degree would not be helpful.
So make a confirmed choice.

Hope this answers your query.

Wish you good luck.....

Dear Aspirant,

Thanks for approaching us at CareerGuide.com I appreciate your detailed query.

MSC gives you good jobs, salary and good career progression, provided you are interested in full time science related work. MBA is useful only when a BSc candidate does not wish to continue in science field. It depends entirely where you wish to work in your life.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric test from CareerGuide.com which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and wil lexactly tell you which stream is good for you.

Best wishes,
