Hello Himanshu,

Yes. Anytime. 

A polytechnic course is more practical oriented. The practical exposure helps you in learning the theory better which is a part of the B.Tech degree 

Also if you wish you could get a better job after a diploma program because of its industrial exposure.

After 12th best option is direct engineering only 4 years otherwise diploma(lateral entry)+ engineering (lateral entry) totally 5 years. One year waste as well as one year money also. But do the engineering in reputed institute like VIT,LPU, BITS..etc so easily you will get job offer before finishing your graduation
