An Interesting question and most importantly an interesting field of service.

While visiting the site MES India, and checking their functionality, mainly the requirement seems to be of Mechanical, Civil and electrical engineers.

But definitely there is a lot of in-house work whereby they would be depending on computers. Right from storing of information to upgradation of the software to making people aware of their work through their website, would require a Software professional.

Dear Aspirant,

Very good question and glad that you approached CareerGuide for this.

I agree with Ms. Mukherjee. Eligibility for Military Engineering Services is Civil, Mechanical and Electrical majorly.

Armed forces definitely require computerised technologies for which they definitely require software and hardware engineers. I think they do admit Computer Engineering students, but may not be Software Engineers in particular.
