Only 12th pass students are eligible for entry in merchant navy
If you are aspiring to have a career in merchant navy, you need to fulfill the following criterion
1. You need to pass 12th standard with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects from recognized institution.
2. Unmarried candidates; both male and female
3. Age not to exceed 21 at the time of application.
4. Indian nationality.
5. Physical standards as per the medical requirements.
6. Deck cadets need to undergo a basic pre-sea training, whereas engineering candidates need to undergo 9 month pre-sea course in marine engineering.
Jobs vary from deck cadets to officer level both in navigational and engineering fields.
The selection is based on both written and medical examination.
All India Merchant Navy entrance test is conducted in the month of nov-dec every year.
