The scope of your career as a Chef depends on a number of factors that have been mentioned below. Please consider all these points before you pursue your career in India or abroad:

1. The job opportunities are more in countries like USA where the economy is developed and the hotel industry is in a very good shape. If we talk about India, the opportunities are lesser but they are growing with time. It will still take few years before you will have similar opportunities here.

2. The salary of Chefs is much higher in countries like USA, UK, Australia. In India, Chefs do earn a lot but the starting salary remains an issue which often varies from Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 20,000. In developed countries you will easily get twice of that money as a trainee Chef. But keep in mind the living expenses will also be more there.

3. Working in countries like USA often prefer educational qualifications from same country. If you have studied in India you may be required to have certain work experience.

4. In case you are looking to study culinary courses abroad, you will be required to take English language tests like TOEFL or IELTS. If that country has any other language than English then you may be required to study that language once you join there.

5. In terms of growth and opportunities you will find more options in a country like USA, but then you need to have that kind of expertise as well. It can be a tedious task to find a job there if your profile is not that great. In India, you will find a job without those extraordinary qualifications.

Therefore, working as a Chef in India or abroad depends on your preferences and skills.
