Dear Aspirant, thank you for asking this question and I am happy to reply it. The fishery scientist has lots of opportunities in India as well as in any foreign country. In India the scope of a fishery scientist is in universities, research institutes and private companies. As you have written the word scope, I will mention this word in respect of job opportunity and salary also.

It depends upon your interest, where and in which field you wish to work. If you wish to work in university then the fishery scientist work as academician and as a researcher. If you have some interest in teaching and guiding students then this field is for you. The salary for a Assistant professor or scientist starts from Rs. 15600-39100 and pay band of 5400. Later the promotion and increment depends upon you hard work and performance.

In research institute a fishery scientist involves in research and his salary is equal to University Assist Professor. This job is suitable for those who has passion for science and wants to to do some thing new.

As a fishery scientist you may choose any research field of fishery science, such as Fish breeding, Fish nutrition, Fish culture, Fish genetics, Fish pathology, Fish Physiology, Fish export and cold chain management.

In Private company, a fishery scientist has different job than a person working in university and research institute. In private company a person can get entry even after masters degree level. The nature of kob is Fish rearing and culture, Fish breeding and the catching and exporting. In between catching and exporting fishes, another important job is fish storage.

Fish storage and processing is very important industry. This industry is well developed in western countries compared to India. The reason is demand, due to which the private companies even invest more money in research and development (R&D) for more growth of fish. The fish breeding is very important field along with fish processing and packaging. Except fish breeding other nature of jobs for a fish scientist is routine. He is also supposed to train and supervise the technicians.

The salary structure is much better than an Indian job. Therefore, you have to see your interst, where you wish to work, the scope will follow your dreams.

Good Luck...
