Trained manpower for the hotel industry continues to be short supply., Hence the scope of being in India or USA is equally good. Students graduating from the established institutes of hotel management find assured placements through campus recruitment programmes in major hotel chains such Oberoi, Taj, Mariott, Welcomgroup, Jaypee.

In India there is much scope in catering services of railways , airlines , shipping , or the defense sector The industrial canteens absorb some hotel management professionals.Hospitals and other institutions also engage hotel management professionals. The remuneration and other perks vary between the different organizations which employ them. Entry level salaries are fairly conservative but the industry offers very strong prospects of advancements for professionals with the right skills set, drive, enthusiasm, tact and diplomacy. Many experienced professionals set up their own catering and hospitality establishments after certain years of experience. Hotel management graduates are also popularly recruited by BPOs , retail chains, public relations agencies, image consultants, travel and tourism agencies , marketing , insurance and other services sector enterprises. Initiatives like massive investment in hotel infrastructure and open sky policies made by the government are all aimed at propelling growth in the hospitality sector. The hotel and hospitality industries
amongthe major employment providers in the nation.
