The scope of the manufacturing engineers depend greatly on the country that you are working in. This is due to the fact that the economy of the country greatly derives the manufacturing related projects in that country and thus the job opportunities are get created. The requirement and the salaries of the engineers also get affected due to this. Below information will help you figure out the scope of being a manufacturing engineer in India and in foreign countries like USA:

1. India has been excelling in the services sector and the manufacturing sector has not shown that much growth. This means that there are not as many jobs in the manufacturing sector as there are in the services sector. Which further means that the manufacturing engineers do not get that high salaries that they deserve in India. On the other hand the opportunities for the manufacturing engineers in country like USA are huge and their salaries are also quite high.

2. Which sector of manufacturing you are working with, that also dictates the opportunities and salaries in that particular country. For example Chinese electronics manufacturing segment is well developed, similarly German car and automobile industry has reached good heights. While talking about India, none of these two sectors are that developed as they are in the above two countries. Therefore you will have to figure out the right country for yourself if you want to work in a particular sector.

3. Whatever you decide - whether you want to work in India or in some foreign country, your choice will be greatly affected by some external factors as well. For example the tight visa policies in case of USA will limit many opportunities for you. Also a number of companies will prefer the engineers who have studied in the same country where they are going to work. The work permit policy in various countries are also quite tricky and discourage the immigration so that the foreign nationals do not take away any jobs. Thus you will have to consider all these factors, before start working abroad.
