So far the scope of being a photographer was more abroad and lesser in this country, but in the recent few years, photography has seen a boom in India as well and the field is growing like anything. Please consider following points if you want to become a photographer and looking for the scope:

1. Overall you will find more job options abroad compared to India. India still being developing in this field, will take some time to shine and create the same levels of photographic pool as we have in countries like USA. Things are changing and it will get better in the next few years.

2. In India the salary of a photographer is not very high. They are generally paid much below compared to the western photographers. This is due to the fact that we are still a growing economy and expenditure on fields like photography is still limited.

3. In case you want to work abroad you need to have the right qualifications for that. They will seriously consider your education background and your experience as a photographer. In India you won't have big troubles in finding the job as a photographer.

4. You will have to do a number of formalities if you want to shift abroad. The work permit is not obtained easily and therefore requires great deal of efforts.

5. If you want to work for the foreign clients, you can do that by sitting in India as well. In todays internet connected world, you have all the technology available to share your work with anyone in the world. For example many photographers for American newspapers and magazines, who are reporting Indian stories, they stay in India and provide their photos from here. That way you can stay here and work for anyone in the world.

Therefore it remains a matter of choice whether you want to work in India or abroad. If you have read the above points carefully, you should be able to figure it out clearly.
