Hello There! I appreciate the fact that you have enquired about a unique career option which requires high amount of passion, hard work, perseverance, ambition and no-die attitude.

I am glad that you approaced CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance to your unique career ambition and I am sure you will benefit from the experts advice here.

Just to tell you about myself, I am an Educationist and have been into career counselling for more than seven years now. I am also into teaching and have been writing articles and research papers on various topics including career management for reputed newspapers and magazines across the nation.

Firstly it is very important for your to judge sseriously and sincerely that whether you would really like o be a footballer for career or as a hobby?

Since you are in polytechnic, unfortunately there is no 'sports' option.

For being a footballer, you need to approach a football training academy and need to get yourself rigorously trained under a good trainer and a reputed one. Only training and practice are the two words which can make you a footballer and further to be a good footballer, you need to be highly motivated at all time irrrespective of the difficulties or hindrances in the way, practice passionately as nobody practiced, not to lose heart, be ready to face injuries and also have the spirit to get back fighting fit to the game, face humilation at times, ready to be extremely patient and have hundred percent perseverance at all times.

Also it is not that after polytechnic, you need to stop the ambition of being a footballer. As a hobby also you can join Football clubs, play inter state tournaments, but seriously you will have to decide whether you can have all the above mentioned aspects in you at every point of time?

Choosing a game as a profession or career is not simple. Sachin Tendulkar chose cricket and left everything else for the game till he got every ball perfect and every batting stroke perfect unmatchable to any one in the world.

I would also suggest and strongly recommend that formal education is very important. It can happen that you may not succeed in sports, then you should have a back up for earning for your self and family and for that, gaining good education is very important and required.

Best Luck.
