Dear Aspirant,

Thanks for approaching us at CareerGuide. I appreciate your detailed query.

You are right that petroleum engineering / management, the minimum eligibility is an Engineer. A non-engineer cannot apply for petroleum management course though it is of management.

I feel, you being a BBA, a general management programme like MBA would be best suited to you.

I would suggest you to undergo a Pyschometric Career Assessment test from CareerGuide.com which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. Based on the result of the test, you can talk to me and then I can guide you which course and career will suit you.

Hi there,

Simply I should say, you are well informed.

As such petroleum and oil and gas are specialized fields, which require thorough knowledge of engineering. Rather technical knowledge is a math, as it deals with the technicality aspects.

So they would require people from technical backgrounds.

But looks like you are keenly interested in this industryt.

So why dont you pursue a general MBA, with specilaizations related to either Finance or HR, which can help you secure a job in the said industry.
I have only mentioned HR and Finance, since these are the 2 departments which are very closely related to the functioning of the industry and you would be closely working with the employees of the organization.

Hope this helps you out.

Wish you good luck........
