Hello Aspirant,

Welcome to careerguide.com, I am happy to see your interest in one of the esteemed fields of the world. Let us first discuss what are the requirements for robotics engineering then we will focus on your possibilities.

Robotics is that branch( inter - disciplinary) of science that uses mechanical , electrical and computer science knowledge all at a time for designing, construction, operation and application of robots to various settings. These technologies generally deal with designing of automated machines that mimic the humans in appearance, behavior, actions and are generally applied in dangerous environments or manufacturing processes to secure and save human labour and energy. For career training , there are a no. of courses offered at diploma, Bachelor's and master's level for robotics, automation, mechanotrics etc. by premier institutes of India like, Anna University, Acahrya Institute of technology-Bangalore, Asia Pacific Institute of Technology - Harayana, All the IITs and NITs, Indian Institute of Sciences- Bangalore and Birla Institute of science and technology etc. and many more.

Now, on your possibilities . why you feel you are an average student ? Is it just because of your marks in your last exams or career up till? Or is it because you are perceived or said so by your near and dears ? What is the development you see soon? these are the few things that needs to be cleared before we can specifically say anything about you. As you have mentioned in your query, it seems that you are going to take your personal and academic development seriously soon, Right ? If yes ! then very good. All you need is the right aptitude, interest, technical acumen , skills and perseverance to become successful in this field. You need a first class career and a Engineering degree to venture into this career. If you cant directly have the specialized courses, then you can opt for for diploma courses or advanced courses in the same after your mechanical, electrical or computer science degree. Or else you can pursue masters in Robotics or Automation with any degree in engineering and then take up your career. There are many choices for you......

For your confusion, I would advise you to take up the career assessment and counselling services offered by meeracareerguide.com, which will help you to discover your inherent talents, strengths, interests and you will realize more confidence in taking up an important career decision for your life. Hope this answers your query.
