Dear Aspirant,

Glad to see this question here.

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the various Civil Services of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.

Other UPSC conducts exams for the below fields:

Engineering Services Examination(IES)
Combined Defence Services Examination(CDSE)
National Defence Academy Examination(NDA)
Naval Academy Examination
Combined Medical Services Examination
Special Class Railway Apprentice(SCRA)
Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service Examination
Geologists' Examination(GE)
Central Armed Police Forces(AC)

This means that almost any field graduate can apply for UPSC and there is atleast one subject for everybody in UPSC which you like.

Best wishes
