Dear Aspirant,

Again the same comparison and again the same confusion.

I feel, there is no way to get confused since MTech and MBA are way apart and drastically different than each other in all aspects like job profile, scope and growth.

Basically, I would answer your question this way:

If you are interested in engineering and if you are a fresher, please choose MTech and not MBA. Choosing MBA right after engineering graduation will land you in non - engineering jobs, since MBA will be considered for the jobs and not generally engineering. Your interest in engineering is vital and therefore MTech is recommended.

MBA cna be done after getting a work experience of minimum five years since at that time it will help you get into managerial role.

Best wishes

Hello Surabhi

Both the courses have good scope and can’t be compared with each other. It depends on your interest about management field and about the engineering stream.

It’s highly recommended to start with a job and work for a couple of years so that you can make the right decision about career path. The benefits are

  • Introduction to various tasks, departments and work culture
  • One gets an idea about various sub fields like R &D, production, maintenance, etc and own interest in these fields
  • After working for one or two years, you will have a clear idea about whether to switch the field or to go for post graduation in the same field or to go for a management related course or to go abroad for further education or to pursue short term courses related to work profile.

All the best
