Hello
Thank you for choosing CareerGuide.com and writing to us. I see you are a current BMM student in first year and would like to do MBA abroad in the same course after your BMM. I am here to guide you through this query today. MBA is a professional degree and it requires a few year work experience in order to send your study application.
Studying MBA in Mass media and communication abroad will be a rich experience and especially, if you study at very good schools, it will be highly rewarding both personally and professionally. Unfortunately all good schools abroad requires at least 2-3 years of work experience before you send your study application. Added to this, an MBA application also requires you to complete GMAT test and TOEFL test. GMAT test has to be compulsorily taken by MBA aspirants and to register for GMAT test, you should visit www.mba.com
For admission and visa purposes you should also prove that you can speak, read, write and learn in English. So an IELTS test or TOEFL test score is mandatory. To register for the IELTS test, visit www.ielts.org or just phone your local British council office, they will help you better. To register for TOEFL, you should visit www.ets.org/toefl You can either give TOEFL or IELTS, but one of them is a must.
In case you don' rel="nofollow"t want to work after your BBM and want to immediately do a Masters, you can consider doing MS in USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, Newzealand and Canada in this subject. Universities dont demand work experience for MS applicants and in this case, you will need GRE general test and TOEFL for USA and only TOEFL or IELTS test score for the rest of the countries. But in my view, studying MS will help you immediately and an MBA is suggestible only to study at a very high ranked Bschool and also only after a minimum of three year work experience
Regarding scholarships, it totally depends on your academic profile and the scholarship availability with the university of your choice. To be a good competitor for scholarships, you should have a sound academic profile like above 90% in your BMM, above 7.0 in your IELTS test and above 90% in your GMAT/GRE. MBA scholarships are very less compared to MS scholarships through out the world. The cost for an MBA is also usually 30% extra to that of an MS degree. For example, if a MS degree costs you 15 lakh, MBA will cost you 20-25lakh depending on the school you wish to study.
All the best.
