Hello My Dear Banking and Finance Aspirant,

I am glad to know your interest in banking and finance sector. Banking and Finance sectors are considered as the back bone of the economy of a country and there fore they are very crucial as far as their performance and productivity is concerned.

I am thank ful to you for approaching CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance on your career concern. I am sure that the experts here will be able to advice you appropriately. In my more than seven years of career counselling experience, I have come across many students interested in banking and finance sector for career and job and I always tell them that domain knowledge and qualifications are very much important in this sector.

Finance & Banking:

Firstly I would like to clarify that one cannot get one job which is into banking OR finance. You will have to prioritise which exact domain you want a job in - whether in banking or whether in finance.

Courses in Banking and Finance:

IFBI is one Institute which offers PG Diploma in Banking and Finance. IFBI has tie up with leading banks in India like ICICI, Axis, etc. They offer training cum placement opportunities. This is a short term programme which can give you clerical jobs in banking.

Below is last years advertisement of IFBI:

Masters degree in finance & banking:

I would really like to suggest you to go for MBA in Finance & Banking from a reputed BSchool. Finance and Banking is a highly niche area and requires high domain expertise if you really want to excel in this sector. If you are aiming at low end jobs or till middle level jobs, then short term courses may be good, however for the long run I recommend you to do an MBA.

Banks, financial institutions today demand MBA for good jobs and then you can also hope for a good salary and growth.

IBPS:

For banking jobs, you can try for IBPS examination which is held by Banking Board for clerical level jobs. Further you can also try for Probationary Officers Exams. These posts are thousands in numbers all over India and National School of Banking gives effective training in this.

Please do get back to us for any more advice and suggestion.

All the Best!
