Why just Diploma???
Are you planning to study further???
Since to get into Research profile minimum requirement is P.hD. For which you first need Bachelors degree followed by Masters degree.
If you wish to get into Clinical Research, minimum requirement is Bachelors degree.
If you begin working, and that too in the Research department, please note that, you would mainly be involved in helping with the Research work like helping the Researcher in their work, nothing down the results etc, wont be hardcore Researcher.

Research definitely means that you should be at least post graduate in pharmcy. after Diploma there cannot be research career. Diplom is just the basic level of qualific tion and in todays world one must be qualified sufficiently.
There is good scope in pharmacy research and for that I too would recommend you to complete graduation and post graduation. After Graduation, you may also think of course in Clinical Research which is getting good demand from indi and overseas.
