The hotel industry is expanding continuously and currently there is a shortage of trained manpower in it.The initiatives like massive investment in hotel infrastructure and open sky policies made by the government are all aimed at propelling growth in the hospitality sector.



Hence , placements are assured for hotel management diploma/ degree holders from established and reputed institutions. Hotel management involves a combination of many skills: general management , food and beverage service, housekeeping , sales and marketing , personnel management, front office operations, public relations, accounting and bookkeeping etc to suit individual skills and qualities.




Students graduating from the established institutes can join major private hotel chains like Oberoi, Taj, Apeejay, Kohinoor, Welcome group, Jaypee etc. They may also join the railways, airlines, shipping lines in their catering service , or the defense sector.



The industrial canteens also absorb hotel management professionals. Hospitals and other institutions also hire these professionals. Many experienced professional set up their own catering and hospitality establishments after few years of employment.
