The only field of engineering that makes an individual technically equipped while instilling efficient management techniques is industrial engineering. Industrial engineering is all about designing and managing methods and procedures to increase productivity, quality and efficiency in the manufacturing process. The increasing complexity of industrial operations and the expansion of automated process in factories and offices is contributing to the demand for industrial engineers. In today's troubles times companies are trying to cut costs and improve efficiency. Most of them choose to hire industrial engineers. Thus the job opportunities for skilled and well qualified industrial engineers are increasing day by day. An industrial engineer design better methods and facilities for manufacturing and services. They study the various industrial processes involved, use mathematical models and computer simulation to devise new manufacturing systems that are more efficient. Industrial engineers determine the suitability of locations for factories depending on the best combination of raw material availability , transportation and other allied costs
.The main areas of work of industrial engineers are quality control, statistical process control, product ability, motion economy and research and development. They can find employment with manufacturing units, consumer electronics industry, medical and pharmaceutical units, textile industry and research and development establishment of big companies.
