Sir, I have completed 12th CBSE in 2008. After that I joined mechanical engineering (regular college). But I was not interested in this field & i was not able to study... And finally I gave up and left the college. So, Totally I lost 6 years after 12th. I'm interested in computer field like computer engineering, BCA + MCA or Animation. But, Now I'm 23 year old. Is it good to go to regular college after 24?? will age doesn't matter?? What should I do now ??? How will I complete my graduation??? I want a degree. Also I was planning for joining IGNOU bca course... But I heard lots of bad comments about open university. So, please guide me... Also I heard, If I have some year gap, It will be difficult to get a job... Sir Please HELP me... I'm very tensed. Thank U.

Hi,

Its never late for doing any thing in life. You did your 12th with science and that too from CBSE board. Wow! that's great, you must be aware there are so many children who are not able to complete their 12th, you did, that too with science, which is even more difficult. You deserve to be feeling on top of the world.

You joined mechanical engineering after your 12th and that too in regular college, another feather on your cap i would say. To get into this you must have gone through entrance test and all that. I know it is not easy to crack any engineering entrance test. But you cracked it and got admission. All this shows that you are a very talented and a dynamic person. You can do any thing you put your hand on. Then why all these apprehensions about age. You have every thing which a student needs to move ahead in life.

Your interest is there as you have mentioned that you are interested in computer related fields. Its very good. Age never comes on the way of a person like you. Be confidant. Its just that you have been away from studies for some time, so its making you think like that. Do not worry , be positive and move on. You can go for BCA,MCA or Animation , whatever you feel like. Do not waste any more time and move ahead.

Next thing which is troubling you is that whether you will get a job or not. This too people around are telling you. I think you did not listen to people when they were suggesting positive things to you then why pay attention to negative things. One gets job due to his own capabilities, attitude and aptitude along with the degrees only. Age of course is a concern but it does not get focus when other things are in place.

If you do not feel confident of the correspondence courses , don't go for it . Get your self enrolled into a regular college and do not waste any more time in thinking this and that. Be confidant of yourself and your capabilities and move ahead in life.

Success is always for those who move with out fear. So take charge of your determination of achieving the degree you want desperately and make a move. Stop worrying , listen to your own voice rather than what people say. I hope i have given a satisfactory answer to your question. If you still feel like asking you can do that here.

ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!

hi,

This is Prashant from Pune, I am very happy to found you on this platform hey buddy we are both are in a same train I actually had a same situation as your but I think as you took a decision in your life I did it too.

I took admission in BE comp and got consecutive years of failure, 4year degree but 6 years gap so humiliating but as per that, Mr's Dhingra mam wrote to you, My sister took stand for me.  She told me to get a good college and take admission in any course. In 2015 I took admission in a BCA course in regular college, It was a very courageous and so well thought decision of my life. On the first day of my college I was sitting with a guys whom ages are  6 years less than me and I was like a teacher to me ,but as days gone I really enjoyed my college and study also I completed my graduation this 2018 and I got first class, I can't tell you how much happiness I found when I completed my college.

Not only I graduated but also completed an internship programme and went for different interviews in TCS and cogni I humbly tell you I was not prepared for a job but they also not going to accept me with my big gap but that's ok for me. It was a dream for me to have an interview call in a company like TCS and Iconfidentally gave my Interview.

I didn't get a satisfactory job yet but, I know I will find it one day !!!!!!

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU MY FRIEND
