Interesting career option.

But hope so, you are sure, you wish to make this drastic change in your career.

Though both the fields are related, in short Computers, but your Graduation degree is more related to application and development of softwares, whereas Graphics would be more related to Communication through the virtual medium.


Though no doubt, your knowledge of software would be the advantage for you over any candidate.

Graphic designing is available as a Post-graduate Diploma program, whereby the basic qualification is being a Graduate in any discipline, which makes you eligible for this course. The course would be roughly divided into 4 semesters for 2 years and it follows with an internship.
This is available with any government recognized University

Whereas few private institutes are also providing the course, which is ranging from 1 month to 6 months to 1 year to 2 years as well.
They are also claiming to provide you internship and mainly they are also claiming to provide you jobs too.

The only difference being that the government recognised one are customized as per the industry standards as well as the fees are comparatively lower, whereas the private institutes fees are sky rocketing and they go beyond company expectations making you a compete pro at your work in all areas.
Now the choice is yours.

As far as your next question is concerned, i.e, salary, the basic salary when a fresher just out of college would earn would depend on the organizations need and capacity, but generally around 20 -25K P.M.
But as you gain experience and can create a demand for yourself, you can then demand a salary.
But please do note that, after few years of work experience it is best to be a freelance in this kind of a job field.
But prior to that you need to be a known face in the market.
So during your work time, make as much as contacts as possible and at the same time maintain all your contacts everywhere, which will help you at the time of freelancing, because at that time "word of mouth" is very very important

Just as a means to end, a course in graphics and web designing makes you eligible for a field called as media marketing, which is very much a pro these days with entrepreneurs, who wish to sell their products online and reach out to people online.
