Hello My Dear Career Aspirant,

Thank you for the brief but sufficient details about your till now career and education. Detailed queries definitely help counsellors to judge and advice appropriately.

I am thank ful for you for approaching the right career platform of CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and advice on your career query. I am sure that the experts here will guide you appropriately.

Current education:

You have mentioned that you have already done B.Com, M.Com and MBA Finance. According to me you have already gathered good qualifications and I appreciate this and congratulate you.

Can you please tell us, why exactly you would like to study more and that too of a different field like Law? Are you working currently or not able to find a job inspite of having good qualifications? You already have two years of work experience in accounts department and now you would like to switch to law? Are you bored of accounts work or are you feeling that accounts is not the right career choice you have made?

Answering the above questions can actually give you and us more clarity about your career concern. Knowing asnwers to this is important for taking future decisions.

Over qualification is always harmful. If you get into law through the LLB course from the Bikaner University, you will become a candidate who has too much diverse knowledge and this will mean to the employers that you are not sure of what to do and in what field to work in for the life. Over qualification candidates are out right rejected by companies. Over qualification does not mean higher post and higher salary. The qualifications should be relevant to each other.

Your relevant qualifications are MCom and MBA. I think you should stick to this qualification for getting jobs or switching jobs. Doing LLB may add value to your resume, but if you do not plan to go into the legal field, then this will again go waste. In accounts work, LLB knowledge is not required.

In more than seven years of career counselling experience I have seen many people take LLB course just for becoming aware of the laws of the country and for personal benefit. If you want to do LLB for the same reason, then you may shurely go ahead. However if you plan to shift careers based on LLB, your previous qualifications will be of no use to you.

All the Best!
